Again, a heavy fall overshadows alpine skiing. This time it caught Nils Alphand. How he is currently doing is unclear.
Absert moments during departure training in Crans-Montana: Ski star Nils Alphand fell heavily on Friday in the 2027 World Cup. The Frenchman then remained motionless. Rescue workers immediately hurried, took care of the 28-year-old. Shortly afterwards he was taken to a hospital by helicopter.
It is not known how the son of the former ski racer Luc Alphand is currently doing. However, it was recognizable how he was created by the medical staff.
Alphand’s fall is not the first of an athlete this season. Again and again there have been violent falls and injuries among the athletes in the past few weeks and months.
At the end of 2024, for example, Alphand’s compatriot Cyprien Sarrazin. The 30-year-old was so heavily overthrown during the departure training on the Stelvio in Bormio that he subsequently had to be removed by helicopter, as Alphand, and then operated in emergency. A hole had even been drilled in his head to derive the blood. After the operation, Sarrazin suffered from double seeing, among other things, and had communication problems.
DSV athlete Jacob Schramm also struggled. The 26-year-old fell in Kitzbühel in January. A helicopter insert was also necessary for him. Schramm suffered a slight concussion and also tore the cruciate ligament in both knees. He has to learn that.
