A piece of nostalgia on the Riegmeer business park in Hoogeveen. Fieten Olie had an authentic NAM-Jaknikker from Schoonebeek installed there today. The intention is that the oil pump, which will be available for decoration, also starts to move.

It has been a search for years, says director Richard Fieten of Fieten Olie, but he succeeded. In the village of Lijnden, under the smoke of Amsterdam, he managed to buy the Jaknikker from a 90-year-old man. “A television program brought him to him about 25 years ago,” says Fieten about the special journey – from Oliedorp Schoonebeek to Lijnden and now back to Hoogeveen – who made the Jaknikker.

Fieten says that De Jaknikker was in Lijnden for the decorative. “After whining for a long time I was allowed to buy it,” he says. “It is a whole colossus, in total he weighs around 30 tons. We had to drive several times to get it here. We immediately had it sprayed into our company colors.

Including restoration, the Fieten has cost more than 50,000 euros. The Jaknikker comes in front of the four -storey office of Fieten that is being built on the business park, where several companies will soon be located. Employees will soon look out on the historic device.

“The Jak you are part of the oil trade,” says Fieten. “As a child I already dreamed of having something like that. When you come here, you can see him standing from far. He only needs to be connected so that he also moves. If I drive through Schoonebeek, I think I think It is always a beautiful sight.
