Lilian Marijnissen from Oss will be committed to the Equal Recovery Foundation (SGH). The foundation was founded by Princess Laurentien at the end of 2023 and helps victims of the Surcharge Scandal. The former party leader of the SP has joined the Supervisory Board.

Since last Thursday, Marijnissen has been part of the council under the chairmanship of Gert-Jan Segers, the Foundation reports Friday. Segers, who was previously chairman of the ChristenUnie, says he is very happy with the arrival of Marijnissen. According to him, she has the right motivation to commit herself for people in trouble.

“Her many years of commitment to social justice, its sharp administrative view and independent thinking seamlessly connect with the vision and DNA of the foundation.”

Natural step
The 39-year-old Marijnissen says that it felt like ‘a natural step’ to contribute to SGH when she was asked for this. “The surcharge scandal is recognized, but still continues for many affected parents and children. And that is a scandal in itself.”

In December 2023, Marijnissen said goodbye to her role as party leader of the SP and left parliament. She did that because the parliamentary elections were rather bad for the socialist party.

In September last year, Marijnissen gave birth to a daughter.
