A lot is talked about “The Osbournes” again these days. But this time there are not the trials and tribulations from the family documentary soap of the same name on MTV in the center (as in the early 2000), but the “Metal Woodstock” in Birmingham. On July 5th there will be a farewell to Black Sabbath.
The string puller is a ozzy wife and manager Sharon Osbourne, who likes to accept the dance by the media and enjoy it.
Most recently, she was a guest in Billy Corgan’s podcast “The Magnificent Others”, in which her husband Ozzy, Gene Simmons and other rock veterans have already spoken.
In the chat with the Smashing Pumpkins boss, Sharon asked a counter question: “Do you want to know what was the biggest mistake I have ever made in my job for Ozzy?” Corgan replied “but of course! That you give a mistake … “
“Maybe it’s not too late”
Then she said: “He was offered to pronounce for ‘Curse of the Caribbean’ … I have not yet said that to anyone. But I said no. He would have been absolutely perfect for that. Corgan replied: “Absolutely perfect! Maybe it’s not too late yet. In any case, God bless him. “
It remains unclear what role and what the mega success franchise Ozzy Osbourne was intended for. However, he would have stood under the pirate flag in the tradition of rock legends.
Paul and Keith were already there
Stones veteran Keith Richards, for example, gave the Captain Teague, the film father of Johnny Depps Captain Jack Sparrow, in the episodes “at World’s End” from 2007 and “On Stranger Tides” from 2011.
Paul McCartney, in turn, had his camoo appearance in “Dead Men Tell No Tales” (2017) as Jack Sparrows uncle Jack. The eternal Beatle can be seen there in a prison cell in which he “Maggie Mae”, a classic from the port city of Liverpool-voted for the jail team.
In view of Ozzy’s Dästermann-Aura and his theatrical stage presence, it is of course conceivable that he would have fit exactly into the daring world of blockbuster corsarsures.
Sharon Osbourne also commented on the “NME”. This was about the (still vague) project of a Black-Sabbath-Biopics. When asked who should embody the band in it, she replied: “Only God knows that! I am not sure whether well -known actors would be suitable for it. Better someone new and fresh. For example, if you let Johnny Depp Ozzy play, you would only see Johnny in the film. Then prefer not a celebrity face … “
