Borussia Dortmund reaches the round of 16 of the “premier class”. However, the current situation with the black and yellow has not passed a player without a trace.

“I am in the longest in the club. It doesn’t miss me without a trace. The situation hits me a lot,” said the 28-year-old after the 0-0 in the play-off second leg against Sporting on Wednesday evening to Sky. “I haven’t had such a situation in the past six years.”

The Dortmunders are currently experiencing the largest sporting crisis in the Bundesliga, the first two Bundesliga games under new coach Niko Kovač, which followed the hapless Nuri Şahin, were lost (1-2 against VfB Stuttgart, 0: 2 at VfL Bochum). After all, the black and yellow prevailed in the Champions League against Sporting.

Brandt also reminded of the sharp hostility that he personally received in the past few weeks whether it has increased. “I have to honestly say: I don’t get the personal criticism, whether justified or unjustified. But I’m in the middle of it. I am on the pitch, I know how we play, I can reflect on it.”

He knew “that if you don’t win many games, it meets you alone from a soccer nature. I see reactions in the ranks of our fans.” He is personally “none who lets emotions run free. I make a lot of things inside myself.” However, the current situation is “difficult” and “a reason that the self -image and lightness are missing in the end.”

Even more: “It is a fight, you have to get out. It is part of life and we will learn from it and hopefully find the way to win as soon as possible.” On the coming Bundesliga match day, the Dortmund will meet Union Berlin (Saturday from 6.30 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online).
