The shoe provider Wortmann Group has announced a major investment in its logistics capacities.
The existing high-bay warehouse at the Detmold location will be expanded to include an additional fully automatic shuttle warehouse, the parent company of brands such as Tamaris, Marco Tozzi, Caprice and Peter Kaiser announced on Wednesday. The start of construction of the new facility should therefore take place in September of this year, the completion is planned for the first half of 2027. The group put the investment volume at around 20 million euros.

“The aim of this future -oriented investment is to enable an even faster and more needs -based supply of retail,” said the group of companies. “The delivery capacity for the home market and the European foreign markets is thus doubled.”
Jens Beining, the managing partner and CEO of the Wortmann Schuh-Holding KG, explained the background of the building project: “We hereby create a basis for further growth,” he said in a statement. “We consolidate our position as a strong partner of trade and further expand our reliability. This is not only a signal for our international customers, but also strengthens our position as an innovative, financially strong employer in our East Westphalia-Lippe region. ”
