Kat Lina, a five -year -old cat, was shot at and injured in Geldrop. Her owner noticed that something was wrong when she didn’t eat and did not respond to his whistle. After hours of searching she was found in shock under a bush.
Lina was admitted to Animal Hospital Eindhoven, where the vet saw a small, suspicious hole in her neck. After an X -ray scan, it turned out that there was a bullet in it. But this study showed that there was more to the kitten, there would also be liquid between her organs.
According to her owner, Marijn, she probably sustained this after she is shot. “I suspect she fell off something after the shot.”
Lina first had to be operated for this excess fluid before the bullet can be looked at. Lina is now at home to recover from the first operation. She is currently paralyzed on her hind legs, but according to her owner it is ‘a little better every day’. “For example, we press her paws every so often to stimulate it. She is now starting to press something back,” he says. “Unfortunately, the legs really move is not yet there.”
After the recovery of the first operation, it is checked whether the bullet will be removed. According to Dierenziekenhuis Eindhoven, it is a risky operation and it is possible that the bullet keeps everything in place. The removal would then do more harm than good.
On Friday, Lina and Marijn return to the Dieren Hospital for a check. He has no idea who shot on his Lina.
