The sequel to Häjy is a flat crime film, the best thing about which is a bright main actor, writes Ismo Puljujärvi, Iltalehti’s news manager.

Finland, 2025
Directed by: Aleksi Mäkelä
IL estimate: ⭐⭐
Production company Solar Films celebrates its 30th anniversary. To celebrate the anniversary year on the screen is seen Aleksi Mäkelä sequel Harshfor a movie released in 1999.
The film, which premiered 26 years ago, was located in the 1990s in Southern Ostrobothnia, where Jussi Murikka (Samuli Edelmann) and Antti Karhu (Juha Veijonen) returned to their home frogs after being released from prison. The knife junk story appealed to the Finns, as the film saw 330,000 spectators in the theater at the time.
Now a new generation will take place.
Konsta Karhu (Joel Hirvonen), like his father Jussi Murika, has been in prison. Konsta designs revenge to his friend Jalo (Severi Saarinen), who deceived him in the cattle.
This time, however, there will be no liquor trooping, but the patterns contain stronger substances, drugs. Jussi tries to get a great drug from the Netherlands to Finland, but as you might expect, not everything goes smoothly.
The filming of the Häjyt 2 movie began in the autumn of 2024. Cata Portin, Solar Films
Compared to its predecessor Häjyt 2 It is much more functional in its plot, which turns quite quickly against himself. Problems that come up are unnecessarily solved and action scenes look quite flat. The feeling of danger suffers from direct freelance.
So how about Samuli Edelmann? Did Jussi Murikka drown, as the first movie suggested? Yes, he is seen as Jussi Murikka. However, Murika has become an English -speaking “gangster”. Unfortunately, Edelmann’s performance is silent. The character has been created by a stereotypical action film that struggles between good and evil.
The star of the film is 30-year-old actress Joel Hirvonen, who is excellent about his role. Hirvonen’s way of expressing Konsta’s past and inner anger is one of the best moments in the film. The choice of Hirvonen for the main part has been a bold bet from the authors, as he is not yet a well -known face to the general public.
The relationship between the father and the son is dealt with unfortunately superficially. It has seemed to be more important to the authors to make the most credible crime movie. The story of the story gallop at such a speed that the viewer does not want to keep up.
Samuli Edelmann and Sari Havas play in the sequel to Häjy. Cata Portin
Linda Wiklund, Petja Source And Ilkka Heiskanen. The screen also sees Sari Havas, who returns to the role of Sister Karhu. In his absence, Juha Veijonen, who would hardly have been able to save the sequel from banality, shines in his absence.
Häjyt 2 is like a clumsy Varesmovie that tries to be a bigger crime movie in size. Nostalgic hungry will find their way to the cinema. There are not enough ingredients in the sequel to the movie phenomenon.
Häjyt 2 will premiere on February 19, 2025.
