The judge follows the story of the IMG that Annerveenschekanaal is only 88 percent enclosed by postcodes where homeowners can get compensation. The court does not think that is special enough to force the institute to add the village to the scheme.
The inhabitants received help from Emeritus-professor of Housing George de Kam when conducting the lawsuit. He argues that houses in rural areas fall much earlier in value than homes in the city of Groningen. The calculation model of the IMG makes no distinction between the two areas.
De Kam does not understand that the judge does not agree with the inhabitants. “In fact, the court has completely taken over the arguments of the IMG and does not take them with us. That calculation model simply does not work properly, it is strange that the judge says nothing about it in the ruling,” says De Kam.
The emeritus professor believes that Annerveenschekanaal would not be an enclave. Especially since the zip code determines whether someone receives money or not. “People are now the victim of the logistics of the postman. If that limit in the past had been pulled differently, then Annerveenschekanaal would have just heard.”
The two inhabitants and the KAM think about whether they appeal against the ruling.
