The total value of the realized Dutch military support for Ukraine has risen to almost € 5.88 billion. This is the amount until 4 February. The support consists of equipment and goods. Minister Ruben Brekelmans writes that in a letter to the House of Representatives.

This is € 2.12 billion more than in September 2024. The Netherlands supplied F-16 combat aircraft, combat vehicles and air defense systems.

In addition, the Netherlands delivered drones and radars, ammunition for tanks and artillery and individual weapons, such as machine guns. For example, Quads and Mercedes-Benz jeeps, medical items and rations went to Ukraine.

Furthermore, the Netherlands used 255 soldiers in Germany last year and 350 in the United Kingdom to train Ukrainian soldiers.

Industry must produce more

Ukraine has an acute need for large amounts of military equipment. The high demand ensures that prices rise quickly. It also takes longer before things are delivered. The production of weapons and vehicles is not fast enough to meet the high demand. The Netherlands therefore wants the defense industry to produce more. Defense is committed to scaling up the production capacity of the Defense industry in various ways, such as via the Drone Action Plan.

Despite the challenges, the Netherlands continues to help Ukraine. Together with European partners, it is looking for ways to keep supporting.
