The British trading group Marks & Spencer Group PLC has promoted the reform of its international business with the new occupation of three management positions.
As the company announced on Monday, Manish Kapoor will be new Managing Director of M&S India from April. According to the group, he has many years of experience in developing international fashion brands in India. Most recently, he held the position of Managing Director & CEO, India, at the Denim specialist Pepe Jeans, before that in various leadership roles for brands such as French Connection, Bennetton and Sisley in India.
Two more management positions in international business are newly filled
The retail group also announced that Victoria Jones took over the post of the Commercial Director, International. She most recently worked for the shoe provider Clarks and is now responsible for the product strategy in international business in the areas of food and clothing at Marks & Spencer.
Richard Davies’s promotion to the International Partnerships Director has already been carried out. Davies came to Marks & Spencer in 2011 and recently held the post of Head of Category for Brands. In his new role, he now had the task “to combine franchise and wholesale and wholesale activities under one roof,” said the group.
The retailer reorganizes its foreign business
The three new managers will report directly to Mark Lemming, the Managing Director of International at Marks & Spencer. Lemming explained the personnel decisions in a statement. “The realignment of our international business is focused on taking the necessary measures at the right time to create a solid basis for sustainable growth,” he said. “The establishment of an experienced global management team is an essential element of this plan, and Manish, Victoria and Richard will play important roles and steer fresh prospects for the realignment and future growth strategy of our international business.”
