Harrie Lavreysen from Luyksgestel has won the sprint part Keirin at the European Baan cycling European Championships in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. The Dutchman was by far the strongest and finished with a large lead over the German Maximilian Dornbach and the Frenchman Tom Derache. Lavreysen could even sit upright before the finish.

In the Keirin section, six riders first ride behind a motorized vehicle, and then sprint once at speed in three laps for the win.

Five-time Olympic and sixteen-time world champion Lavreysen had previously caught silver on the team sprint and gold on the sprint in Heusden-Zolder.

On the European stage he was the best three times on the Keirin, in 2019 and the past two years.
