Musiala extension: 21-year-old power diving

With the contract extension of Jamal Musiala, the German record champion created clarity in a personnel. Bayern sports director Max Eberl has now released details of the negotiations.
FC Bayern has had clarity in the contract negotiations with young star Jamal Musiala for some time. “The fact was that we were almost through with Jamal immediately after Christmas and that we already had the promise in January. And then it was about formulating all the contracts to write the contracts,” said Eberl at TV- Sender Sky on the edge of the top game with Meister Bayer Leverkusen.
On Friday, the Munich team announced the contract extension with Musiala by 2030. The 21-year-old Musiala can also look forward to a salary jump with which he rises to the circle of top earners. Manuel Neuer (until 2026) and Alphonso Davies (until 2030) had also signed new contracts.
The personnel Joshua Kimmich, whose contract in Munich expires at the end of the season, is still open. “We know exactly what we want, Josh knows what we want. Now I also hope that we can do it via the finish line,” said Eberl.
With a possible commitment of Leverkusen’s young star Florian Wirtz, Eberl is currently not concerned: “We have a season where we can still become German champions, in which the Champions League can achieve something. And I think it is simply the topic that we can discuss our squad, discuss our extensions.
