The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom Cyber Security Center reminds us that various romance scams and love fraud are still topical.
Fraud often starts with a cheater in contact with his victim on social media or through a dating service as an invented person. For the cheater, at best, getting to know the convergence, getting in love and falling in love.
At this point, the victim may be so hooked that no request will make the alarm bells ring. As money requests begin, a long -built emotional bandage will obscure the victim’s judgment, and the pattern does not want to believe as a scam.
According to the Cyber Security Center, love scammers are ready to appeal to the victim’s feelings of ruthlessly. In addition, they are committed to the use of deception and implementation for long periods of time.
However, there is help for those who have met romance scams. For example, the SOSPED Foundation and the Maria Academy Association’s joint online dating safety project is developing and providing a low-threshold support nationwide.
