The Apeldoorner made the controversial switch from Feyenoord to Ajax in the summer of 2021. He made his debut in the lost match for the Johan Cruijff Scale in August 2021. Since then he played 143 official games for the Amsterdammers and scored 33 goals.
The next match of Berghuis and Ajax will be in -house against Heracles Almelo next Sunday. It is still unclear whether Ajax trainer Francesco Farioli has access to Daniele Rugani and Jorrel Hato. Both defenders did not come out of the fight against Union St Gillis on Thursday evening.
