At the age of 23, US ski racing driver Allie Resnick has to end her career. She sends her farewell words from the bedside.
The fact that Ski Alpin is one of the most dangerous sports in the world became clear not least thanks to numerous severe falls and injured professionals in the past few weeks and months. The American Allie Resnick now had to end her ski career at the age of 23 due to an injury.
Resnick posted a picture from the bedside on Instagram. Regarding the recordings she shows with a thick -banded knee, she wrote: “Not quite the end that I had dreamed of, but I couldn’t be more grateful for every step in this way. I think the little Allie would be proud.”
Nevertheless, she looked back on her shortened career gratefully. “Thank you, ski racing! For the lifelong friendships, the memories and for making me the person I am today,” she wrote. Your emotional conclusion: “I will miss you more than I can put into words.”
Resnick started nine times in the World Cup between 2020 and 2023, and also drove in the European Cup. Some top stars from the US team did not leave their farewell to professional sports. For example, the recently injured record World Cup winner Mikaela Shiffrin wrote: “The best is yet coming.” And also Paula Moltzan, who only won the bronze medal in the giant slalom on Thursday at the Ski World Cup, cheered up. “I’m proud of you,” she commented.
