If everything goes well, Dante will still appear for OGC Nice at the age of 42. The 41-year-old, who has her birthday in October, extended his contract at the Ligue 1 club again by a year until 2026 and goes into his tenth season with the Aiglons, where he just posted his 300th mandatory game.
The former Bundesliga defender, who played 103 games at Borussia Mönchengladbach, at FC Bayern Munich 133 and VfL Wolfsburg 33, could continue to climb with the new contract period in the French league. Dante is already one of the six players who were older than 41 in their use. With a mission at the age of 42, the Brazilian would jump fourth behind compatriot Hilton, who ran for Montpellier in 2021 (to the latest and oldest Ligue-1 players).
Dante had started his European football career in France. Already in 2004 he switched from Brazil to Losc to Lille in 2004. In addition to France, he was also active in Charleroi and Liège in Belgium before the path of the later, 13-time national player led to Germany. There, the Gladbacher paid a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros for Dante in 2009. FC Bayern had to leaf of 4.7 million euros in 2012. Dante won the Champions League title with the Munich team, became German champion and three times the cup winner four times.
