After obtaining his VWO diploma in May, Haarlemmer Mats van den Bos decided to fully focus on skating. “I went to live in Heerenveen and I have decided to go all the way for my sport. I train with super strong guests and am very happy,” says Van den Bos.
And that approach works, because the only 19-year-old skater from Team IKO-X2O is working on a very good season. He already rode a number of world cup matches this season and last month he set the second time (34.58) on the 500 meters during the NK Sprint.
This weekend the NK distances is on the program and he wants to participate for the prizes. NH Sport was present at one of his last training sessions in Thialf and made the above report.
