Sportschau presenter Lea Wagner continues and extends her contract with the ARD by another four years.
It is clear that she will continue to present the Bundesliga sports show and the sports show on Sunday. “I am very pleased that I can continue to practice my dream job as part of the ARD family. In the past few years I have been able to learn a lot from my colleagues and can hardly wait to present our viewers as many sporting highlights as possible,” explains the 30 -year old.
In addition to the regular sports show programs, which she moderates with Alexander Bommes and Esther Sedlaczek, Lea Wagner is also in use at the transmissions of live sports events in the ARD. Since 2021 she has been presenting the ski jumping competitions in the first together with expert Sven Hannawald. Away from winter sports, Lea Wagner was in use with the big football tournaments – such as the UEFA Euro 2024, the Women’s World Cup 2023 or the 2022 World Cup – and recently accompanied the Olympic Games in Paris. During various cycling broadcasts, she was there as a moderator or host of a successful YouTube format.

Lea Wagner has her next appearance in the first and in the ARD Mediathek this weekend. On Saturday, February 15th, from 6 p.m. she will moderate the “Sportschau 3rd League” and the “Sportschau Football Bundesliga” and on Sunday, February 16, the “Sportschau” from 7:15 p.m.
