Nottingham Forest causes a sensation in the Premier League. The team struggled in the FA Cup and had to go to added time. There was also a bad collision.
In the Premier League, Nottingham Forest is currently in third place behind Liverpool and Arsenal and inspires fans. The former Bundesliga player Taiwo Awoniyi, who moved from Union Berlin to Nottingham in 2022, collided with an opponent and had to be brought off the square with a stretcher.
What exactly happened? In the stoppage time of the second half, the striker jumped up to get the ball. However, Awoniyi was hit by exeter goalkeeper Joe Whitworth on his face. Both players went down and medical staff came onto the pitch to check the offensive player and the goalkeeper.
Especially with the attacker from Nottingham Forest, it took longer. Blood flocked from the nose of Awoniyi. His treatment phase continued for ten minutes, then the ex-Unioner had to get off the pitch with a stretcher.
On the platform X, the club wrote that Nottingham-Tainer Nuno Espírito Santo commented on the striker’s injury: “Nuno has confirmed that Taiwo Awoniyi suffered a nasal fracture in the air in today’s cup game.” It is not known how long Awoniyi fails through the broken nose.
