Patrick Roest’s dramatic season lasts a day and a half: ‘It has sat in the head’

It should be the weekend of his comeback, but the NK distances – from next Friday to Sunday in Thialf – are also too much to ask for Patrick Roest. That means that this skating season for the best all -rounder in the Netherlands has only lasted a day and a half. At the NK Allround of last December, the 29-year-old Lekkerkerker stepped off the ice after three distances. Due to the cancellation, Roest now also misses the World Cup distances in a month in Hamar, Norwegian.
