Research at Paris Nanterre University shows that cats do respond when their owner talks to them in a higher ‘baby voice’. Dogs react much more clearly than cats through their body language. But it has been proven that Poeslief is also sensitive to that high voice, provided that it is their own owner who talks to them. They apparently not only use their owner for food and shelter, they understand us well.
