‘Frog’ in bakje lamb’s lettuce from supermarket has been living with German family for nine years

The 4-year-old Jasper from Weissenburg, southern Germany, does not believe his eyes when he is standing in the local supermarket with his mother in the fruit and vegetable department. Under the plastic of a bowl of lamb’s lettuce is an animal that winks at him. It is the start of a very remarkable story that has been going on for more than nine years.
