Biathlon giant Johannes Thingnes Bø returned to the circle of the Norwegian team around a week before the start of the World Cup in Lenzerheide. The 31-year-old had said goodbye to his family after the last World Cup in Antholz to spend more time with his family.

Johannes Thingnes Bø joined the Norwegian biathlon team again this week after the superstar was in Oslo in the past few days in order to prepare for the World Cup in Lenzerheide (February 12th to 23rd).

Bø had previously justified his departure to get the necessary energy in the circle of his family for the last biathlon weeks of his career. The Norwegian managers were not particularly enthusiastic about the idea, but ultimately gave the 20-time world champion okay.

Last highlight in Bø’s biathlon career

The Scandinavians will get the finishing touches for the highlight of the season in the coming days at the Lavazèjoch before traveling to Lenzerheide in the early week. In addition to the French, the Norwegian men are considered a big favorite for the titles.

For Bø, the World Cup in Switzerland is the last big competition of its career. The superstar had declared his resignation at the end of the season in mid-January and briefly put the biathlon world into a shock state.

In Lenzerheide, the Norwegian now has the chance to expand his impressive World Cup medal collection again. Bø is currently at 20 gold, 13 silver and 5 bronze medals.

The Superstar played his first World Cup in 2015. Already there he cleared a complete medal set. In the latest title fights in Nove Mesto in 2024, Bø was not to be stopped at all in Oberhof as a year earlier and won three of the four individual races for the second time in a row.
