Patrick Wimmer has been playing in the Bundesliga for three and a half years. The talented Austrian is on the wish list for some clubs. He himself has clear ideas.
FC Bayern has been the measure of all things in Germany for decades. Many players dream of wearing the record champion’s jersey one day – including Patrick Wimmer from VfL Wolfsburg. In an interview with the “Salzburger Nachrichten”, the Austrian said: “Bayern Munich would be the dream scenario. This is a world-class club that is very close to Salzburg.”
The 23-year-old spoke openly about his future plans. He was ready for the next step in the career and dreams of switching to a large European club. “But that’s still a long way off. First I have to prove myself in Wolfsburg and then we continue to see,” said the 21-time national player.
Wimmer moved from Arminia Bielefeld to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2022 for five million euros. In his two and a half years with the wolves, he scored eight goals and gave twelve templates in 63 competitive games. With this balance sheet, a change to Bayern is likely to be rather unlikely. Nevertheless, several European clubs, including AC Milan, Juventus Turin and Leicester City, are said to have an eye on him.
