Krul started playing football at GSV in Grootschermer. Then came out in youth for AZ, AFC’34 and FC Utrecht. In 2009 he made his professional debut for Telstar.
His first club outside the Netherlands was the Colombian Boyacá Chico. After that adventure in South America, a whole host of clubs followed. For Bayamón FC from Puerto Rico, Iwaki FC (Japan) and Preston Lions (Australia) played.
