Former Ferrari boss Jean Todt has told about his relationship with Michael Schumacher.

The Frenchman is particularly remembered for his success as Ferrari’s team manager, although he first rose to Finns Hannu Mikkola and Rauno Aaltonen as a map reader.

Just before retiring, he also had time to celebrate his protector Kimi Räikkönen World Championship title.

– Michael was a friend and brother who made history. He seemed rude, but it was actually quite shy, Todt told La Repubblica.
– He wanted a normal life: take the kids to school and enjoy everyday life.
Todt is one of the few who regularly visit the Schumachers Home Hospital. However, he does not tell exactly the condition of the former F1 champions.
– The family has decided so, and I respect their will. I regularly visit Micheal and his relatives. Our bonds go much deeper than to a common job. He is part of my life, Todt said.
The 78-year-old Frenchman now shares his time between different charity campaigns. In particular, road safety is close to his heart.
Surprisingly, Ferrari no longer invites the ex-boss to Maranello’s events, although Todt once led the stable to a total of 14 F1 championships (drivers and manufacturers).
– After I left Fia, no one was in contact with me. It is surprising given all those achievements.
