After Grabara failure

For the coming weeks, possibly also months, VfL Wolfsburg’s goalkeeper is probably called Marius Müller (31). It could also have been Tjark Ernst (21) if it had gone to Lower Saxony. After transfer market information, the wolves tried to borrow the Hertha keeper at short notice after the violation of a regular Kamil Grabara (26) turned out to be more difficult than initially suspected. Hertha immediately pushed the project a bar. The capital club was not ready for a loan.
Ernst, who was trained at VfL Bochum, has been a regular at Hertha since the end of last season, and generally missed games, if at all, due to injury, including the first encounter of the new year. In the past two games against HSV (2: 3) and Jahn Regensburg (0: 2) Ernst sat on the bench and Marius Gersbeck (29) in the box of the old lady. The contract with the Ernst native of Stuttgart was extended in September 2024 to 2027.
The VfL does not officially predict how severe the violation of Grabara or how long the downtime is actually. The local newspapers “AZ & WAZ” had reported on a setback after further investigation. Grabara caught it badly. The club only wrote that the goalkeeper was not available until further notice due to a muscle injury in the right front thigh. The 31-year-old replacement man Müller became the second oldest Bundesliga debutant of Wolfsburg with his substitution on Sunday, as the club confirmed. Only striker Steve Marlet in the 2005/06 season was still about a month older than Müller at the moment when he first ran for VfL in the Bundesliga. Pavao Pervan (37), who now has to be a replacement for Müller, is in fourth place in the ranking after his Bundesliga debut for VfL in the 2018/19 season (one of the oldest Bundesliga debutants of the current season and historical ).
