Because for the time being, the trade unions catch bone when it comes to making a social plan. “The impact is very great for the employees,” says Onur Erdem of trade union FNV. “But the employer refuses to talk to us. It is ridiculous that she does not want to arrange this in a neat way.”
Because not everyone is waiting for a move to Zaandam. The 53-year-old Ed Terpstra from Bovenkarspel has decided to stop pain in the heart after seventeen years of loyal service. “My travel time is quadrupled and I have to work in the evening, I am not waiting for that. I also have a problem child at home that I am a caregiver for. So I will not succeed.”
