PSV has further put Feyenoord into trouble. Peter Bosz’s team beat the competitor from Rotterdam on Wednesday with 2-0 and qualified for the semi-final of the KNVB cup.
PSV needed a success after a series of disappointing results in the Eredivisie. Feyenoord, the number 5 of the Eredivisie, suffered the third defeat in a row. The club also lost to Lille (6-1) and Ajax (2-1) last week.
Johan Bakayoko shot the home team to 1-0 in the eighth minute, after a combination with Luuk de Jong. The video referee looked at the opening goal, but ruled that Ismael Saibari, who hindered the view of goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther, was not a nuisance offside when his teammate scored. Guus Til scored the second goal in the 68th minute, after a successful action by Saibari.
