More than 14,000 foodies and catering professionals cast their vote for the 15th edition of the competition. For each province, the three finalists were allowed to prove their professional knowledge during a test for a professional jury. This year the test was completely around monocépages: wines made from one grape variety. The sommeliers had to taste ten wines blindly and select one that they could perfectly combine with a dish.

In addition to taste recognition, technical knowledge, argumentation and communication were also assessed. After a thorough evaluation, the jury was awarded Julie de Mey as the best sommelier in West Flanders.
