There are ski racers who almost do not fall and others who often meet. One of these is Nina Ortlieb. The ÖSV President now commented on this.

Nina Ortlieb had to deal with many injuries in her career. Again and again the Austrian ski racer experienced setbacks. The 28-year-old fell on the Kandahar slopes in Garmisch last week and suffered a broken lower leg. The experienced athlete had to be operated on for the 23rd time in her career. The President of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) now commented on this.

Roswitha Stadlober said in an interview with “Today.at” now: “It hits me very hard, it hurts in the innermost. Every injury is too much, but it is difficult to understand with the Nina.”

Then the ÖSV boss carried out in relation to Ortlieb: “She lives in constant pain. These are moments that she no longer needs. But in principle, sport is a school of life because you have more defeats than success.”

Nina Ortlieb fell heavily at the Kandahar race. At high speed she lost the hold on the outer ski, twisted her leg and then remained screaming in the snow. The race had to be interrupted for a long time. Rescue workers first transported in the valley before they were flown to the hospital for further treatment. There she finally received the diagnosis and now fails for a long time.

Ortlieb described her situation as a “nightmare”. She said on Instagram: “I just broke my right leg again. I don’t find the right words at the moment, but I am very grateful for all the support and news.”
