FC Barcelona drew 0-0 against Galatasaray Istanbul in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16. The Spanish first division team disappointed against the guest from Turkey at their home stadium Camp Nou on Thursday evening and hardly had any chances against the defensive Galatasaray team.

Glasgow Rangers, who previously knocked out Borussia Dortmund, have the best chance of progressing after beating Red Star Belgrade 3-0 (2-0). James Tavernier (11th/penalty), Alfredo Morelos (15th) and former Bundesliga professional Leon Balogun (51st) scored the goals for the Scots. AS Monaco have a similarly difficult starting position for the second leg as Belgrade, who lost 2-0 at SC Braga after goals from Abel Ruiz (3rd) and Vitinha (89th). RB Leipzig has already qualified for the quarter-finals after Spartak Moscow were excluded.

Europa Conference League: 8-goal spectacle between Eindhoven and Copenhagen
The Europa Conference League delivered the most spectacular duel of the evening. Eight goals were scored between PSV Eindhoven and FC Copenhagen, and after the Dutch fought back the score was 4-4 (1-3). “We weren’t at our best in the first half. Why? I dont know. Sometimes things like that happen. We had a clear plan and prepared well,” Schmidt told ESPN afterwards. “But if you’re 3-1 down against a team that’s strong on the break and you put them under the same pressure as we did, then 4-4 is a good result. We made slight mistakes on two goals and missed a penalty and luckily away goals don’t count double anymore.”
