Combined Nathalie Armbruster celebrates her first World Cup victory with a loud jubilee scream. The young athlete writes history through success.

Nathalie Armbruster wrote sports history. The 19-year-old secured the first World Cup victory of a German combined person. At the second stage of the Seefeld triplet, she prevailed in front of the Norwegian double world champion Gyda Westvold Hansen and Japanese Haruka Kasai.

After her triumph, she could hardly hold her emotions back. “I am so overwhelmed, I fight with tears – now they only run down,” she said in the ARD. During the race, she was still concerned until the last departure to fall. “I only enjoyed the last mountain. Now I want to take every emotion with me,” the student continued.

Armbruster laid the foundation stone for her success when jumping with a strong width of 104.0 meters. In the trail she gave the competition no chance and reached the goal with a lead of 37.7 seconds on Hansen. “I’m so happy. It is incredible that it is still with such a huge lead,” said the two-time World Cup runner-up.

With her victory, Armbruster has secured an excellent starting position for the finale of the Seefeld Triples on Sunday. She could be the first winner of the prestigious competition, which has so far only been held for men. At the upcoming World Cup in Trondheim (February 26 to March 9), it is now one of the medal candidates.

There was a surprise after jumping: Series winner Hagen, who had won her eighth victory in the eighth competition of the season on Friday, was disqualified due to a non -compliance with the consequence. The Norwegian is therefore not at the start on Sunday when the decision is made for the overall victory.
