A week after his furious second place in the World Cup mass start, ice skating runner Fridtjof Petzold in Milwaukee (USA) ran back on the podium. This time, however, “only” in the B group.

In Milwaukee, the 27-year-old ran over 5,000 meters in division B to a strong second place. Petzold, who was recently in impressive form, only had to give up the Norwegian Peder Kongshau, who mastered the rounds in the Eisoval 2.15 seconds faster.

Overseas seems to be a good place for Petzold. At the 1988 Olympic Oval in Calgary, he was completely unexpectedly on the podium last weekend.

Ostlender also celebrated a success. The 22-year-old was only 0.1 seconds for victory in the B group over 1,000 meters. Nikola Zdrahalova (Czech Republic) grabbed it.

The other Germans ran clearly past the podium. However, Hendrik Dombek was able to be satisfied with his sixth place in the A group over 1,000 meters. Stefan Emele (14th) and Moritz Klein (15th) clearly missed the top ten.
