The police made a reconstruction on Thursday of the loss of Sabir Bouchan from Etten-Leur. Sabir has been missing since October 2023. Based on new information, shots would have been fired on day that Sabir was last seen. Possibly he was killed by a firearm, the police say.
The police carried out the reconstruction on the pastor Breugelstraat in Bosschenhoofd, the place where Sabir was last seen according to witnesses.
Forensic investigation has again extensively investigated the business park. Experts have tested ‘extensively different scenarios’ and released various shots. The reconstruction must make it clear whether it is possible that Sabir was killed by firearm violence.
The conclusion of the reconstruction follows at a later time, the police say.
Missing for over a year
On Thursday, October 26, 2023, Sabir Bouchan (then 41) was last seen. Around twelve in the afternoon he left his house on the Kenseweg in Etten-Leur. Surveillance images show that he visited a coffee shop on Willemstraat in Breda that night before. The 26th he was seen and spoken by witnesses in Bosschenhoofd. After that, Van Sabir no longer heard any sign of life.
Shortly after Sabir was last seen, something suspected happened at his house in Etten-Leur. A small, black Volkswagen (old model) drove away with squeaking tires. Bouchan himself was possible in a Nissan Note.
The police have been investigating what happened to Sabir for a long time. In June last year, the police distributed thousands of flyers among residents of Etten-Leur. That appears not to have worked. The police now hope to find out with the help of a major reward.
Golden tip
Last week Bureau Brabant paid attention to the Sabir case. The person who comes with the golden tip and can tell what happened to Sabir can count on a reward of 10,000 euros. That tip has not yet arrived. The police say that the 10,000 euros is still ready.
