Kuusikko-whiskey is unique in the world.
Six Finnish whiskey blades have joined forces and whiskey. Even a bit insane, the idea has created a spruce whiskey.
Kuusikko is an indication of the desire for distillery and the ability to cooperate, but it is also intended to accelerate and support a bigger issue.
Namely, Finnish whiskey producers, together with other Nordic distillery, have started a project to get the Nordic whiskey an EU geographical origin.
The mixing of the Kuusikko whiskey uses Helsinki Whiskey Rye Malt, Kyrö Woodsmoke Malt Rye, Ägräs Peated ex-Oloroso, Teerenpeli Peated ex-Cherry, Valamo Unpaated ex-Bourbon and Beer Hunter’s Peated Ex-Bourbon. In the whiskey world, only Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Japan and Canada are considered to be their own geographic areas, so all other production areas are usually classified in one and the same world whiskies.
Indeed, the whiskers of the Nordic countries have decided to take a cross -border initiative on the official EU registration of Nordic Whiskey.
Kuusikko Whiskey Bottle is known to be the first of its kind in the world: it is a mix of the flagship whiskers of all the whiskers bottled in one country.
The mixing of the Kuusikko whiskey uses Helsinki Whiskey Rye Malt, Kyrö Woodsmoke Malt Rye, Ägräs Peated ex-Oloroso, Teerenpeli Peated ex-Cherry, Valamo Unpaated ex-Bourbon and Beer Hunter’s Peated Ex-Bourbon.
Whiskey expert and non -fiction writer Jarkko Nikkanen He was tasked with mixing one of the six whiskeys. Nikkanen, who created the recipe, says that the mix was not easy.
– There is a hundred surface rye, there is a combination of rye and malt, there is malt whiskey on smoke and without different barrels, he lists.
Nikkanen states that quite quickly he got a certain type of vision that went into the bull -headed way.
– Many times I had to go back and find that this path would not work. Gradually I understood how this mix is built.
According to Nikkanen, the name of the spruce refers to six distillations, but also to the cavalcad, wooded flavors of fennomanic flavors.
Kuusikko is the first whiskey marketed under the title Nordic Whisky.
-Originally marking is an important part of strengthening the Nordic Whiskey identity. Competition in the world market is fierce. We want to create our own whiskey area in the Nordic countries. We are now doing pioneering work together to get the first mark of the state border, says the distillery entrepreneur of Teerenpeli Anssi pyysingis the leader of the Nordic Whisky project in Finland.

Originally marks the official status to help strengthen the position of the Nordic whiskey world. In the past, alcoholic beverages registered by the EU have been given, for example, a French cognac and champagne, Greek Ouzo, Finnish Vodka and Italian Grappa.
The joint Nordic GI project also supports the debate on the rights of the distillery.
Founded some time ago, the Finnish Distillery Association believes that decisions would be made during this term.
– Yes, there is still enough work and exercise, the chairman of the union Asko Ryynänen notes.
According to the association, the right to sell would not only enrich alcohol culture, but would also increase Finnish tax and export income and support food tourism in our country.
Small breweries and wine farms already have the right to sell their own products.
From the Nordic countries, Iceland released the right to sell, and in early June Sweden.
– The other Nordic countries are moving forward. It gives us pressure in Finland.
It is hoped that everyone with a manufacturing permit is also the right to sell.
Ryynänen states that Viski brings two million tourists a year to Scotland. Of course, there are about 120 distillers there, but he said a fraction of that two million tourists would be in Finland.
-Certainly many foreign tourists are amazed when after a tasting tour he can’t buy a bottle of distillery. Instead, it is advised to go to the nearest Alko. It is still easy in Helsinki, but we are advised to drive 45 kilometers in that direction in Valamo. But then it is remembered that oh, now it is Saturday and it is five, then on Monday, Ryynänen describes reality.
He does not believe that the distillery would take the people to the obstruction of the people.
On the other hand, the external permit, in particular, would be able to finance their operations in particular. Ryynänen states that the result would be a richer and deeper alcohol culture.
– And jobs where they are not so much. In addition to whiskey, there is much more to do in Finland. Most of the distillery is located in the countryside, which needs attraction factors. What’s the bigger attraction than the award -winning distillery.
