Research into history former residents

The current occupant of the house in Badhuisstraat, Sander Fransen has requested the stones. “I have the idea that I inherited this place of the previous residents.” Sander therefore feels ‘indebted’ and does not rest until he has selected the history of Philip and Rachel to the bottom.

He was extensively helped by the voluntary researchers of Stichting Stumelstones Haarlem. Since its foundation, the foundation has had 250 commemorative stones placed in the city three years ago, always with a ceremony. The intention is to give all 733 Jewish Haarlemmers who were killed in the Second World War back in the city with such a stumbling stone.
