VfB Stuttgart has succeeded in a transfer coup. The club signs a former German international for its women’s department.

The long -time German international Maximiliane Rall will bear VfB Stuttgart’s jersey in the future. The 31-year-old signed a contract at Klub from Swabia until summer 2027. The third division announced this on Tuesday afternoon. Rall will run in Stuttgart with the number 80.

Sascha Glass, VfB Sports Director Girls and Women’s Football, emphasized in the club’s message that it was “overjoyed” that Rall had chosen VfB. The defensive specialist has always attested “a certain connection to VfB”. She “finally listened to her heart. We had very good conversations and Maxi fits our team in a sporting way,” said Glass, who also emphasized her sporting qualities. Rall also decided against numerous offers from home and abroad.

The player herself also had their say in the message. “As a real swab, I wanted to come back to Germany in the USA after my time. I followed VfB and I liked what the club built,” said Rall. She also referred to the good conversations with the club.

One reason for the change was also Jana Beuschlein, who also plays for VfB and is Rall’s best friend. “We have known each other from our time together at TSG Hoffenheim for ten years. At VfB, our circle closes again.”

Rall had most recently played for the Chicago Red Stars in the USA. There she had changed at FC Bayern for two and a half years last winter. Before that, she had also been active for TSG Hoffenheim in the women’s Bundesliga. Now she moves back to Germany – to the third highest division.

Rall: “Regardless of the league, I am the most important thing to have fun with football and to be part of a special team. This is given at VfB. I’m happy to be back in my Swabian home.”

Rall was also used for the German national team in the past. Between 2018 and 2022 she completed nine games for the DFB selection. In its report, VfB described them several times as “former international”. By switching to the third division, the chapter DFB team for Rall should be closed accordingly.
