Romania is going to demand an “unprecedented compensation” from the Netherlands for the art robbery from the Drents Museum last weekend. Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said today, reports the Romanian channel Stirile Protv.
The Prime Minister also announced that the Romanian government is thinking about the release of a reward for the tip leading to recovering the stolen golden helmet of Cotofenesti and the three golden bracelets of Sarmizegetusa Regia.
The prime minister said again to be “very indignant” that the precious Romanian treasures were stolen from a museum where there were no guards at night. “We cannot accept this, I ask the Minister of Justice to analyze the contract with the Nederlands Museum with the best experts and to demand unprecedented compensation,” Ciolacu said at the start of the government consultation.
In a ‘powerful message’, the Prime Minister would have informed the Dutch authorities that it is crucial that the investigation leads to catching the thieves and finding the dacic treasures. “The Dutch state has full responsibility for this situation,” the prime minister also said.
