The chairman of the Finnish Distillery Association is wondering about the proposal of the Basic Finns, which would give financial benefits to alcohol.

On Monday, the Finns published their election program for the spring and municipal elections. In its program, the party proposes a financial incentive for a healthy lifestyle.

– What if the cessation or non -alcoholic smoking would be given, in addition to avoiding harmful taxes, a reduction in income tax. Or instead of starting and supporting sports facilities, society would somehow reward for jogging and gym, PS suggests in its election program.

Chairman of the Finnish Distillery Association Asko Ryynänen Keeps the proposal as a ham.

– I don’t know how to control at all that one does not drink alcohol. It sounds like a sudden populist idea when I am not yet familiar with the content of how this could be done.

Ryynänen points out that alcohol is not the only evil of Finns.

– Sure, all starts in a healthy life are good, but they should not be done at the expense of the alcohol sector. People also have other hobbies and evils that are harmful to health than just alcohol.

He emphasizes that the union does not encourage anyone to use alcohol.

– We will be using the moderate use of alcohol and that consumption would shift more to quality instead of quantity. We can encourage such a lifestyle, regardless of the party base.

For distillery travel

Asko Ryynänen, a distiller and distillery by Valamo’s vineyard and distillery, reminds us that most of the Finnish distillery is located in the countryside.

– If legislation were to give a little line, they would have the opportunity to grow into international players and attractive factors. Most importantly, I would consider the right to sell to develop the industry from the point of view of tourism. Through this, the countryside would get more tourism and jobs, not only for distillery, but also for tourism and nutrition services.

The Finnish Distillery Association was founded in 2024.
