At FC Santos in his homeland of Brazil, he was trained, in Europe to the world star. Now a return of the striker Neymar, which has become offside to the Pelé Club, is becoming increasingly likely.

The Brazilian superstar Neymar and the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal are now going separate paths. As the association announced, the 32-year-old’s contract was terminated in mutual agreement. With this, a return of the offensive player to his homeland of Brazil seems more and more likely. His youth club FC Santos, for which Neymar played until 2013, should be interested in an obligation. According to media reports, Neymar himself will also be willing to play again for the traditional club.

Actually, Neymar would have been under contract with Al-Hilal until summer. But for some time now, the former world star no longer played a role in the team of coach Jorge Jesus. Since moving to Saudi Arabia in August 2023, the attacker was only used in seven games and scored a goal. Critics repeatedly accuse him of attracting attention on the square with tricks and provocations than with effectiveness.

In the summer of 2023, Neymar was switched from Paris Saint-Germain to the Saudi Arabian league for a transfer fee of 90 million euros. But his commitment to Al-Hilal was overshadowed by injuries. In October of the same year, the Brazilian suffered a cruciate ligament tear in a mission for the national team, which forced him to take a one -year break.

After his comeback last October and two short missions in November, Neymar had to pause again, this time because of thigh problems. His move to Saudi Arabia, which was originally intended as a restart, thus developed in terms of disappointment.

In addition to a possible return to Brazil, Neymar could also switch to the USA. According to Brazilian media reports, clubs from the upcoming World Cup guest country should be interested in the offensive player. Among other things, Inter Miami, where Neymar’s former teammate Lionel Messi is under contract. The 32-year-old continues to hold the record for the highest transfer fee in football history: in 2017 he was switched from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain for 222 million euros.
