Russian rhythmic gymnastics national team coach and Vladimir Putin’s confidante Irina Viner has commented on the moving claims about her, Russian website Sport24 news.
Hanna Rizatdinova, the Olympic medalist in rhythmic gymnastics, said at the beginning of January that the Russian female gymnasts will be put in a kind of “brothel” when their “best before date” expires.
According to Rizatdinova, the athletes are married to Russian leaders.
According to Sport24, there is a general perception in Russia that the fiancés of female gymnasts are arranged with Viner.
Viner says that once a couple got into a fight without his consent.
– I didn’t accept one couple, but the bride was still happy. He was Amina Zaripova. Aleksei Kortnev didn’t visit me, says Viner.
Zaripova, 48, is a five-time world champion in rhythmic gymnastics. Kortnev, 58, is a well-known Russian musician and actor.
When the couple married in 2002, Kortnev had already gone through two divorces. He had two children from previous relationships.
– Kortnevi had two ex-wives and children. I didn’t accept him, says Viner.
– But he became a good father, who now has four children, admits the coach.
