The entire collection of gold and silver Romanian objects in the Drents Museum Had an insured value of more than 30 million euros. That is what Erest Oberländer Târnoveanu of the Romanian National History Museum said in a press conference.
The Romanian museum gave a press conference this morning because of the theft of four gold masterpieces from the Drents Museum yesterday morning, from the collection Dacia – Rich of gold and silver.
According to the Romanian channel Euronews, Romanian National History Museum is going to court because, according to the museum, there should have been a physical guard in the Drents Museum at the time of the art. Harry Tupan of the Drents Museum said yesterday during the press conference that no guardian was physically present.
Translated documents in the hands of RTV Drenthe show that there is nothing about it in the contract. However, the Romanian museum interprets the contract differently.
The same documents show that the stolen gold helmet represents a value of 4.3 million euros and the bracelets have a value of half a million euros each.
The estimated total value of the stolen documents then comes to nearly six million euros. The documents show that the golden helmet is the highest insured piece from the collection. The entire collection consists of 670 pieces, not all documents are extensively described in the documents.
