Johnny de Mol, like André Hazes Jr., wants to travel outside the official school holidays now that he is hijacking Hélène Hendriks’ talk show for four weeks in the summer. “I’m sending a letter to school.”
It was a mega riot when André Hazes Jr. and his lover Monique Westenberg decided two years ago to travel with their son outside the official school holidays, without permission from school. They didn’t just get away with it: they had to appear in court and were ultimately fined.
Same trick
Johnny de Mol now wants to do the same trick: by claiming that he has to work in the summer, he wants to get an exception for his children to travel outside the school holidays. Besides the fact that it is cheaper – although that is of course not relevant for Johnny – it is much quieter to travel outside the official summer holidays. So great.
What excuse does the presenter use for this? That he will relieve Hélène Hendriks at De Oranjezomer for four weeks in the summer. Although his children’s summer vacation lasts six weeks, Johnny does not consider two weeks of vacation enough to fully relax with his family.
School holidays
Angela de Jong asks Johnny when she is sitting directly opposite him in the talk show Renze. “What I wondered when you heard it: shouldn’t you just ask something at home? It is in the middle of the school holidays.”
Johnny then says: “Yes, that’s right. No, you have a point there. You are not always in charge. Fortunately, I have a very nice person at home who supports me 100 percent and understands that it is a great opportunity.”
Exception
Host Renze Klamer then names the exception rule. “And moreover, this is regulated by law, if you are required to work during the summer holidays as a parent, you can request an exception that allows you to go on holiday with your children outside the holidays.”
Johnny agrees and wants to take advantage of it. “Look. And tomorrow the director of my children’s school expects a very nice letter.”
Consent
Angela has her reservations about that. She is very strict with Johnny: “Then you have to wait for your permission, otherwise you will get that Dré Hazes situation, right?”
Johnny: “Yes, no, that’s right, I’m going to do it properly.”
