On Wednesday, Lewis Hamilton wandered off his first rounds for Ferrari in Fiorano. After the Tifosi had to wait a long time for the debut of the Formula 1 record world champion in Red, the Scuderia now announced the next test drives of the British.

Almost a year after the interrelation, the time had come on Wednesday: Formula 1 record champion Lewis Hamilton completed his first test drive for Ferrari. The 40-year-old Scuderia newcomer in Ferrari SF-23 covered 30 laps on the Red Red Red Red Head.

After the Tifosi had to be patient for a long time, they will be able to admire Hamilton in the Ferrari overall soon.

As “RacingNews365” and “F1I.com” reported, the Briton and his team-mate Charles Leclerc will approach a three-day test behind closed doors on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from Tuesday.

Formula 1: Ferrari star Hamilton tests twice in Barcelona

It is not yet confirmed which car will drive the two Ferrari pilots. However, it can be assumed that Hamilton and Leclerc will be on the road again on 2023 models-or on the F1-75 from 2022.

The vehicles are adapted to the new TPC rules (Testing of Previous Cars), according to which the Formula 1 teams are entitled to 1000 test kilometers per calendar year on older models. After his maiden voyage in Fiorano, Hamilton is 90 kilometers. Leclerc, who completed 14 rounds on Wednesday, currently comes to 42 kilometers.

On February 4th and 5th, Hamilton has another test with the Scuderia in Barcelona. However, this trip is part of the 2026 tire development program by F1 supplier Pirelli. The British will still be a debut: in the course of this tire test, he can sit for the first time at the wheel of the SF-24, the previous year’s ferrari.

A day after the season opening in the O2 Arena in London on February 18, in which all ten teams will present their cars for 2025, Hamilton and Leclerc are to cover a first short test drive in the new Ferrari racer in Fiorano. From February 26th to 28th, the official Formula 1 test trips in Bahrain will increase.
