Michael van Gerwen has once again had to recognize his superiority in Luke Littler. The darts phenomenon from Vlijmen lost on Saturday evening in the quarter-finals of the TOTO Dutch Darts Masters to the just 18-year-old English world champion. The score was 6-3 for Littler in the Maaspoort in Den Bosch.

More than three weeks ago, the young Englishman was also too strong for Van Gerwen (7-3) in the final of the world championship.

Littler quickly distanced himself from Van Gerwen, but the reigning ‘Dutch Master’ then showed that he did not want to give in easily. It became 3-3. The English super talent then took control again and played Van Gerwen to a hopeless 6-3 defeat.

Before their first meeting since the final battle in London, Van Gerwen (35) said that he was not looking for revenge: “I just want to win, numbers don’t interest me.” He was out to prolong his title, but his elimination Littler is now the favorite.

The tournament in Den Bosch continues this evening with the semi-finals and the final.
