While Muriel Muhr convinced in Big Air, snowboarder Annika Morgan disappointed in Aspen. In the Knuckle Huck, she stayed under her expectations for the X-Games.
In the past issue of the ski freestyle and snowboard spectacle, the 22-year-old had made it to second place in this discipline-but on Saturday (25.01.2025) she was very far away.
Morgan could not stand the first two jumps, she ended up with the back in the snow. In the third round, the German then showed a safety jump, so their final attempt even played completely without tricks and with an open jacket.
However, their tactics worked better than their riskier start. After the first two jumps, Morgan had taken eighth place, in the end it was enough for sixth. Similar to the previous year, however, it went for Kokomo Murase, the Japanese was able to repeat her triumph in Knuckle Huck.
Muhr causes a sensation despite seventh place
Muhr made it into the field in the Big Air as a successor – and she asserted herself in the top of the world. After her third places in Chur and Klagenfurt, the 18-year-old was also able to convince in Aspen, she showed two strong jumps with ratings of 82.66 and 84.33, in the last attempt the backward landing did not work and she fell. In the end, it was only seventh at her first X-Games start, but Muhr still caused enthusiasm.
The victory went to the flora Tabanelli, which was one year younger. In the playoffs, she already delighted the spectators with an outstanding jump, which received a rating of 91.66 and gave her a place in the final of the best four. There the Italian kept her nerve, cracking the 90.0 points again with 90.0 points – and the only one. The second was Grace Henderson (87.33), Tess Ledeux (27.0) and Rell Harwood (23.66) Patzen in both jumps.
