Glennis Grace was grilled pretty hard on the barstool of Today Inside: host Wilfred Genee tackled her pretty hard. What does Tina Nijkamp think? “She needs to stop laughing at everything.”
It caused a lot of commotion, but ultimately brought little news: Glennis Grace’s Today Inside performance. Presenter Wilfred Genee wanted to go back to that day when Glennis misbehaved in the Jumbo, but the singer herself was not interested in that. And that led to some friction, because Johan Derksen was in her camp.
Big mistake
Johan thinks that Glennis is being punished too severely because she once ‘made a mistake in life’. Wilfred: “Well, mistake, mistake… I mean: he rebuilt the entire Jumbo. Let’s face it.”
Does the singer realize that she has misbehaved? At Ranking the Stars she blamed Rob Goossens. She says: “Yes, it wasn’t smart at all to put it that way. Look, as far as the media is concerned: I was already on the floor, for months, really, and it just kept going. That’s what I was trying to say. He was one of the people who did it.”
Brainwashing
It bothers Johan incredibly that Angela de Jong has called for Glennis to be expelled; that was also the reason for him to invite her to VI. “Angela never recovered from brainwashing at Driestar, the most Christian school in the Netherlands. It continues to keep that reformed tone.”
Nonsense, says Wilfred. According to him, many people share Angela’s opinion. Johan: “Let me say to those people: I feel bad about it.”
Satisfying
Glennis is very grateful to Johan. “I feel like it was the first time that someone stood up for me. I am very grateful for that.”
Actually, very little comes from Glennis. For example, she says about the Ladies of Soul: “No, yes, wow, I find it very difficult to say something about that now. (…) There’s quite a lot going on behind the scenes, which I’m definitely not going to talk about, because I don’t think that’s nice, I don’t like…”
Motherf*cker
A little later, out of nowhere, Wilfred reads out a shout that Glennis is said to have used: “’Motherf*cker, I will slit your throat the next time you do something like that again.’ Those are quite tough texts when I read them again.”
Glennis: “Yes, but that’s something I didn’t say. That’s really something I would never ever say to someone. It was said by someone, but not by anyone and not by my son either, before we hear that again later.”
Unruly
Roos Schlikker once told VI that Glennis’ son is causing trouble for the entire neighborhood and that she herself has had bad experiences with him. Glennis: “I would have liked to hear that. She could have sent me something like, “Listen, I ran into your son, we had a run-in.” Come to me.”
Johan: “That woman was the first to cancel me, I don’t take that seriously.”
Glennis: “Well, then I won’t do it either!”
No meters
When Glennis again refuses to go back to that day in the Jumbo, René van der Gijp comments: “What you do get now, Johan, is what she is saying here and how she is telling it, that many people at home think: yeah, vague shit, I haven’t gotten any further.”
Wilfred: “Yes, I have that feeling too. Then I think: either you come and tell us or you don’t come. That’s what I think to myself. Johan finds it annoying, but that is my feeling.”
What does Tina think?
What does Tina Nijkamp think? The TV authority writes on her analysis channel: “Glennis has a lot of advisors,” she said. But why doesn’t any advisor tell her to stop laughing at everything? It looks like laughing away. That is what does not improve her image.”
She continues: “Everyone deserves a second chance, but you don’t achieve the goodwill factor if you answer almost all questions with only a smile when it concerns such a serious subject.”
Guido and Victor
TV critic Victor Vlam finds it mainly boring. “Glennis Grace is extremely cautious at Today Inside, terrified of making another mistake. Her evasive answers were a sign of weakness. And her smile was very forced. But she got through the show without any new blunders,” he says on X.
Story boss Guido den Aantrekker thinks it is a weakness. “What exactly is the purpose of this Today Inside? A waste of airtime – it yields zero point nothing. No one else is interested. Nice try, goodbye.”
