Drug baron Jos Leijdekkers, better known as Bolle Jos, is hiding in Sierra Leone. The Public Prosecution Service confirms this after research by Follow the Money and AD. Jos Leijdekkers from Breda is the most wanted criminal in the Netherlands and has been on the run for years. Leijdekkers is seen as one of the most important organizers of the international cocaine trade.

The drug criminal can be seen together with the president of the West African country on official footagewhich the president’s wife posted on Facebook.

It shows the president of Sierra Leone and his wife going to St. Joseph Church in the village of Tihun for a New Year’s Mass. President Julius Maada Bio and his wife sit at the front. Two benches behind that, a white man sits among the Africans, with an open church booklet in his hand. It is Jos Leijdekkers from Breda.

Although his nickname is Bolle Jos, the Breda native seems to have lost a lot of weight compared to the many composite drawings and old photos of him that are circulating.

President’s daughter relationship
According to an outspoken politician, Bolle Jos would bribe high-ranking officials in the West African country. He is also said to have a relationship with the president’s daughter the newspaper. That daughter can be seen in the images next to the drug criminal.

Bolle Jos is on the National Investigation List and an amount of 200,000 euros has been offered for the tip that leads to his arrest. Leijdekkers is seen as one of the most important organizers of the international cocaine trade. Imports go through the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, among others.

Extradition to the Netherlands
The Public Prosecution Service announced in a press release on Friday evening that it has received several signals in recent years about where Bolle Jos is allegedly hiding. The police and the Public Prosecution Service have now known for six months that he is in Sierra Leone.

“It is our greatest priority to get him to the Netherlands so that he can serve his sentence. Everything is being done in this regard, but in the interest of the investigation we cannot discuss this further at this time,” the Public Prosecution Service reports.

Due to the ties that Jos has with those in power in the country, this appears to be a complex operation.

Convictions
In June last year, Bolle Jos was sentenced in absentia by the court in Rotterdam to 24 years in prison for international cocaine trafficking and because he had ordered a murder. In total, this involved the import of almost 7,000 kilos of cocaine. Shortly afterwards he was sentenced to ten years in prison for assaulting a guard at the port of Antwerp.

The Antwerp Public Prosecution Service would also like to see Leijdekkers in court. In October 2023, he allegedly tried to hijack a cocaine seizure from the police. Leijdekkers is seen as the client for the job. The criminals went after the truck into which the drugs had been transferred, but they were stopped by the police.
